Summer

This is a piece I made from copper, carved cinnabar, and a clay scarab. I also put one of my paintings of a Raven in the center. When I made this I was just happy to make jewelry again. Now as the summer moves along it seems to be a symbol of past and present, life and death, hope and learning. When I make a piece I just let my heart and fingers do the work, I never know or plan for a piece to make some kind of statement, but it does happen. I have lost a dear Artist friend , I've gotten hugs from children and had a milestone birthday. The Raven holds many secrets, past, present and future.
