I'm thinking happy

Where I grew up, southern Calif., we had a large back yard. we divided it up with a white picket fence, my Mom hated it because she had to keep it painted. Behind the fence we had avocado and lemon trees and a fig tree for a while. I didn't know I lived in paradise. The beach was only 10 minutes away. Bird of Paradise grew everywhere. We had a big pepper tree, that my sister loved to climb. I made tents in the back yard . That never got out of my blood. I've spent years traveling to craft shows, setting up my tent on the lawn.

Welcome Signs

I thought I would try sign painting again. I worked as a sign painter on a short trip to
Alaska many, many years ago. The sign's then were more official. load limit etc. These are a little bit of collage and painting. I will have them at the Entree Gallery.

I still need to add the words

I was also thinking of making them coat racks, key holders etc. Each one will be original.

Creative Tip

Shut off every thing that can distract you. Computers, TV, Phone. Play music without words. Let your mind only think of the project. If you do play music , play instrumental works only. Perhaps start with slow and build up to faster, follow your mood.

A experimental Painting

I'm trying to not think when I paint. My biggest problem in letting go. RELAX, Let the brush go. Easyier said than done. My sweet husband said he likes it better when I think, oh well. They said you should never ask your spouse or family-friends for their opinion. The people that love you might be a little bias or untrained. Boy I guess that means most of us are on our own. What does our gut tell us, how does the heart speak? These are the steps of a work in progress. When do we stop?
